Terms of service
These are the general terms that apply to working with Built Different Design Co. The written quote or agreement for your project governs the specifics — scope, revisions, timelines and payment — and takes precedence if the two ever differ.
Quotes and pricing
Prices on this website are in Canadian dollars (CAD) and are starting points, not fixed quotes. Final pricing is confirmed in a written quote based on your project's scope and features, and excludes applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Quotes are valid for 30 days.
Payment
Payment terms — including any deposit required before work begins and when the final balance is due — are set out in your written quote before any work starts. The quote also confirms how and when to pay, and accepted payment methods are confirmed in writing before anything is due.
Scope and revisions
Each project includes the revision rounds stated in your quote, within the agreed scope. Additional pages, features, or a change of direction are quoted separately and agreed in writing before any extra work begins.
Timelines and client delays
Timelines are estimates and depend on receiving your content, feedback and approvals. Extended delays on your side may shift the launch date, and for significant delays the schedule may need to be re-booked. If a delay on our side affects the timeline, we'll tell you early and agree on a revised date.
Your content and responsibilities
You're responsible for supplying accurate content and for holding the rights to any text, images, logos or other materials you provide. You confirm that we have permission to use those materials in your project.
Ownership and handoff
On final payment, you retain ownership of the content and materials you supplied and receive the rights to use the client-specific website deliverables created for your project, as set out in your written agreement. Built Different Design Co. retains ownership of its pre-existing materials, reusable tools, methods, templates and other intellectual property. Third-party platforms, licensed assets, domains, hosting, software and integrations remain subject to their own providers' terms and licences.
Third-party services and fees
Things like domain registration, hosting, email services, scheduling tools and premium integrations are billed by those providers separately from website build pricing, and their own terms apply. Where a third-party cost applies to your project, we'll flag it before you commit to it.
Maintenance and support
Ongoing maintenance or support after launch isn't included in a build unless your quote or agreement says so. If you'd like ongoing help, we'll agree the scope and terms in writing first.
